 UK/EU Style Lampshade carrier Fitting

The UK/EU style lampshade fitting typically uses a “BC” (Bayonet Cap) or E27 and E26 (Edison Screw) base. The fitting is designed for easy attachment to a lamp base, often featuring a metal or plastic ring that secures the shade or the shade carrier in place. The shade carrier is usually mounted directly onto the lamp holder with  a simple screw mechanism. This fitting is known for its stability and ease of use, allowing for quick shade changes without complicated assembly.

 US Style Spider Fitting for Harp Lamp System

In the US, lampshades are often fitted using a harp system. This involves a metal harp that sits on top of the lamp base, secured by a finial. The lampshade carrier is designed with a hole or a fitter that slides over the harp, allowing it to rest securely. The advantage of this system is that it provides a stable and adjustable height for the shade, enabling users to customize the look and light diffusion. To change the lampshade, simply lift the shade off the harp carrier, and replace it with a new one.

 Ceiling Shade Carrier Fitting

A ceiling fitting is designed for pendant or chandelier lampshades that hang from the ceiling. The ceiling light fixture can vary in design but typically involve a mounting plate secured to the ceiling and an electrical connection. The lampshade is then attached to a rod or chain that connects to the fixture. To use a ceiling fitting, you first need an electrician to install the mounting plate and connect the electrical wiring, ensuring safety and compliance with local regulations and adjusting the height as needed to create the desired ambience in your space.. Once installed, you can hang the lampshade from the rod or chain connecting the ceiling lampshade spider to the lamp holder and secure it with the ring. Due to different electrical regulations in different countries, we do not supply the lighting fixture. We hand craft and sell the lampshades only.

The lampshades using different shade carriers can fit lamps with uno fittings /the carrier is placed on the lamp holder of the table or floor lamp base and secured with a ring/; harp fittings /the spider carrier is placed on the harp and secured with a finial/ and ceiling light fixture /the ceiling spider is secured on the lamp holder/. The shade carriers are suitable for B22, E26, E27, E14, E17 lamp holders with a ring for table and floor lamps and B22, E26, E27 for the ceiling light fixture. The spider carrier for the harp is with 10mm/0.4” washer and can be used with all standards of lamp holders.

1. Certified backing material for the fabrics for the backed lampshades. We supply backing materials for the fabrics that are certified for safety standards EN IEC 60598-1.
2. Fire retardant Fabrics for the soft and pleated lampshades. For our soft lampshades, we utilize fire retardant fabrics or fabrics that have been treated with nontoxic and environmentally safe coatings.
